TEST OF NEW BID LOGS AT PRICEBENDERS

Starting today, we are testing an alternate bid log system at Pricebenders. We will be using the same alias-style bid logs announced on April 15, but you can now see everyone's real name after ten bids. That is, once you've bid ten times at any auction, the aliases will automatically disappear and you'll see the real names of all bidders.

We feel this new system still eliminates the vast majority of the intimidation tactics the original change was designed to address, while providing more transparency that many of our auction bidders want.

Note: Once an auction ends, a list of every bidder--with both their real name and their temporary* alias--is provided on the Latest Winners page (click "Bidders" link).

* A new alias is assigned for each auction you participate in.

BONUS BAR NOW ON EVERY AUCTION!

Starting today, we are testing Bonus Bars on EVERY Pricebenders auction!

The new Pricebenders Bonus Bar is a live, realtime progress bar that sits atop each auction. It provides TWO great benefits:

1. If bidding reaches the end of the Bonus Bar, we LOCK IN the price you'll pay if you win. That is, no matter how much higher bidding goes, your purchase price will always be AT LEAST 77% off the MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price)! If bidding ends before reaching the end of the bar, your savings can be up to 99% off, but you're now guaranteed to always save at least 77% off retail on every Pricebenders auction!
